Why do I prefer to finger throttle?

In Europe, e-bikes are becoming more and more popular for their environmentally friendly and convenient features. Among the operating parts of e-biks, there are mainly finger throttle and semi-rotary throttle. Today, I would like to talk about why I prefer finger throttle.

First, let's look at the difference between the two. A finger throttle is usually located on the side of the handlebars, and speed is controlled by the flick of a finger. A semi-rotary throttle, on the other hand, is similar to a motorbike throttle, where speed is adjusted by rotating the handlebars.

One of the advantages of the finger throttle is that the operation is more precise, and it is easy to control subtle changes in speed, especially when you need to drive slowly or control the speed accurately. In addition, the finger throttle will not cause a sudden increase in vehicle speed due to accidental movement of the hand, which increases driving safety. For people who are accustomed to fine operation with their fingers, the finger throttle is more in line with their operating habits. Finally, the finger throttle is removable. In some areas, the law does not allow the use of the throttle to control electric bicycles. In this case, it becomes legal to remove the finger throttle device.

The advantage of the semi-rotary throttle is that it is more intuitive to operate. For those with motorbike riding experience, the half rotary throttle may be easier to use. It also allows you to adjust your speed more quickly, making it suitable for use in situations where you need to accelerate or decelerate quickly.

However, the semi-rotary throttle has some drawbacks. It can cause speed changes due to inadvertent hand rotation, increasing the risk of accidents. Also, during long rides, the hands may become fatigued from maintaining a rotating position all the time.

In contrast, finger throttle is more suitable for riding in the city. It allows you to control your speed more easily on crowded streets and avoid collisions with pedestrians or other vehicles. At the same time, finger-dial throttles are also more durable and less likely to break down.

All in all, although finger throttle and semi-rotary throttle have their own advantages and disadvantages, I prefer finger throttle. Its precise operation and safety give me more peace of mind when riding an e-bike. If you're thinking about buying an e-bike, you might want to consider a model with a finger throttle.
